A-Rod's wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, filing for divorce Baseball star Alex Rodriguez will soon be a free agent on the love market, after wife Cynthia Rodriguez heads towards Miami court today to file for divorce from A-Rod. Various reports for a divorce of Alex and Cynthia Rodriguez started coming out on Sunday night and continue well into Monday, but all seem to have a few basic patterns: Cynthia Rodriguez will file for divorce from A-Rod on Monday in Miami court, claiming that the A-Rod - Madonna affair was the last straw in a string of Alex Rodriguez flings. "The embarrassment over Madonna was the last straw. She flew to Paris to get out of town before everything blew up between them. There is no affair with Lenny Kravitz. They are good friends," a source close to the Rodriguez family was quoted on numerous occasions. And according to Rodriguez’s former trainer Dodd Romero, now godfather to the couple's two daughters, Cynthia Rodriguez is certain that A-Rod has been "brainwashed" by Madonna and lured away from his family.

The focus of the divorce will likely cover the custody of their two children, as well as the financial aspect. A prenup was signed by A-Rod's wife, however, Cynthia Rodriguez's lawyer is promising a "huge settlement" as a result of the divorce. "She has reached the end of her ability to tolerate his continued marital misconduct. As a baseball player, the guy's terrific. This is the game of real life, and that's where he's not going to make the all-star team. As a parent and as a husband, he's not going to get voted in," Cynthia Rodriguez's lawyer Earle Lilly added. The upcoming A-Rod divorce will certainly be one of the most publicized this year and could turn into a nasty one, some celebrity watchers predict. Odds on Alex Rodriguez' divorce are expected shortly after the papers are filed.

Although the alleged A-Rod's affair with pop star Madonna may have been the last straw for Cynthia Rodriguez, it certainly is not the only one. The serious trouble began last year when A-Rod was photographed with stripper Joslyn Noel Morse entering a Toronto, Canada strip club. Back then a stripper at the Hustler Club by the stage name Monique said that she also knows Alex Rodriguez, but added "I don't want to get him in anymore trouble than he's already in." The Daily News claimed at the time that A-Rod is known for texting strippers with dirty messages. Following the A-Rod stripper scandal, rumors immediately surfaced that his wife Cynthia Rodriguez was packing her bags and leaving the baseball player, after Cynthia was seen leaving their apartment with two suitcases in hands. At the time the couple appeared to have worked thing out, but along came Madonna, sending Cynthia Rodriguez straight to the Miami-Dade County Family Court with divorce papers in her hand.
