2008 Miss Universe
Odds: Miss Venezuela favorite to win
On Sunday is the 57th edition of the Miss Universe beauty
pageant and while the contestants are preparing for one of the
biggest pageants the odds makers are gearing up for another
round of entertainment betting. The 2008 Miss Universe will be
held in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14th, 2008 and folks in the
USA can watch it on NBC. A new Miss Universe crown will be
unveiled in 2008, but other than that, the show will go on
without any major changes. Interesting to note here is that
France, Russia and Spain will be represented at the 2008 Miss
Universe by contestants other than the country winners. Miss
France, Valérie Bègue, was banned after suggestive photos of her
appeared in the media shortly after she was crowned. Miss
Russia, Ksenia Sukhinova, withdrew to dedicate more time to her
studies and Miss Spain, Patricia Yurena Rodriguez, turned out
she could not meet the age requirements and was disqualified.
