Las Vegas casinos: Gambling revenue down 16.4% in May

 And May became another month of slumping gambling revenue for the casinos in Las Vegas and Nevada. According to the latest state report on the gambling revenue, the Las Vegas casinos saw 16.4% decline, compared to the same month an year ago. The casinos on the Las Vegas Strip took in just $513.5 million in May of 2008. Meanwhile the casinos in Nevada (statewide) also saw a big drop in gambling revenues. Gamblers lost just $969.9 million in May or 15.2% less than they did the same month last year. The numbers for May were the fifth consecutive monthly decline statewide.
