Las Vegas casinos: Gambling revenue down 16.4% in May

According to the latest state report on the gambling revenue, the Las Vegas casinos saw 16.4% decline, compared to the same month an year ago. The casinos on the Las Vegas Strip took in just $513.5 million in May of 2008. Meanwhile the casinos in Nevada (statewide) also saw a big drop in gambling revenues. Gamblers lost just $969.9 million in May or 15.2% less than they did the same month last year. The numbers for May were the fifth consecutive monthly decline statewide.
