Caesars Indiana
now Horseshoe Casino
On Friday the transformation of Caesars Indiana to
Horseshoe Casino and Hotel Southern Indiana was officially
complete. The riverboat casino re-branding took less than two
years and yesterday politicians and gambling figures cut the
ribbon of the $53 million renovation project. The change was
initiated by parent company Harrah's Entertainment Inc. about 18
months ago, a move that industry experts said would limit its
Caesars brand to the high-end Las Vegas and Atlantic City
markets. The new casino will offer over 2000 slot machines and
over 100 gambling tables, but also boasted a 503-room hotel.
"It has been a challenge for all of us to do the right thing
with the money, and I think we’ve done a pretty good job of
that," Neal Walkoff, vice president of Horseshoe Southern
Indiana, said during the casino opening.
