Ohio one step
closer to casino gambling with Keno games
The State of Ohio is one step closer to casino gambling,
critics and fans of the game, which is scheduled to begin
Monday, are eager to agree upon. The Keno games will begin on
Monday as part of Governor Strickland plan to fill a projected
$73 million hole in the state budget over the next year. Each
game will being four minutes apart from the previous and a
bettor can let his numbers ride for up to 20 consecutive games,
which would mean gambling up to $300 an hour. So far about 800
bars and restaurants have applied for the Keno license and the
number is expected to grow as high as 2,000 in the coming
months. According to lottery officials, the projected Keno sales
for the first year are $292 million.
