Gambling revenue of Nevada casinos down in June

 The casinos in Nevada reported yet another month of gambling revenue loss, dragged down mainly by the Las Vegas Strip casinos. According to the June 2008 report released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board yesterday, the gambling revenue of the Nevada casinos fell 1.1% compared to the same month last year, while the fall in gambling revenue of the Las Vegas Strip casinos was 3%. In dollar signs, the Nevada casinos gambling revenue realized in June was $949.3 million and the Las Vegas Strip casinos took in $486.4 million. Nevada collected $52.1 million in percentage fees during July 2008, based on taxable revenue generated in June 2008 or an 8.4% increase over fees collected last year.
