Ravens vs.
Steelers odds, point spread, game preview
NFL football bettors are now looking forward to the final
game of Week 4, the Monday night football game between the
Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is shaping up
to be a great AFC North battle, with the Baltimore Ravens (2-0)
visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) with the best defense in
the NFL and a chance to clinch the early division lead. But
before we take a look at the long injury lists published by both
teams, let's look at the Ravens vs. Steelers point spread and
betting odds.
At the popular online sportsbook
BodogLife we find that the
Steelers will play in front of home-town fans as the odds
favorite football team. The bookie has the Steelers odds set at
-230, while the Baltimore Ravens this time will be the underdog,
holding odds +190 to win the Monday night football game. The
Ravens vs. Steelers point spread is currently at -6 points chalk
the Pittsburgh Steelers with the total expected by the odds
makers listed as 34 points. Keep in mind that Baltimore is 0-5
against the spread in its last 5 games on the road, but
Pittsburgh is 1-5 against the spread in its last 6 games when
playing the Ravens. Also, the total has gone OVER in 10 of
Steelers last 14 games when playing Baltimore. Considering that
both the Ravens and the Steelers are very strong defensively
(No.1 and No.2 in the NFL respectively), the Baltimore's offense
is on average 60 points ahead of Pittsburgh, hence the Steelers
may fail to cover the spread tomorrow.
Physical condition is a problem at both
teams, but the Ravens seem to be worse. The Steelers will
officially play without DT Casey Hampton, DE Brett Keisel and
running back Willie Parker, while linebacker Donovan Woods
remains doubtful for Week 4. Corner backs William Gay and Deshea
Townsend are both probable for Monday night football
participation. At Baltimore, meanwhile, quarterback Troy Smith
is out for the game against the Steelers, and so are cornerback
Samari Rolle, defensive tackle Kelly Gregg and safety Dawan
Landry. Ravens wide receiver Yamon Figurs and linebacker Nick
Greisen are still questionable for Monday football, while LBs
Tavares Gooden and Ray Lewis, RBs Le'Ron McClain and Willis
McGahee, as well as cornerback Fabian Washington are all just
probable to take part in the Week 4 game.
