Vikings vs. Saints
odds and point spread
Football fans will close the NFL Week 5 with the Monday
night football game Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints and
we will look at the latest odds and point spread on this
match-up. Both the Minnesota Vikings (1-3) and the New Orleans
Saints (2-2) will enter the game with some questionable players
and the odds makers and bettors are yet to give one of the NFL
teams a large edge over the other.
Looking at the latest odds posted by the
online sportsbook
BodogLife, the odds on this
Monday night football game are currently in favor of the New
Orleans Saints at just -160, while the visiting Vikings will
come out on the field as underdog with odds +140. The Minnesota
Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints point spread is at -3.5 points
chalk the Saints with the total at 46.5 points, a high volume
largely expected thanks to Saints No.3 ranked overall offense.
Keep in mind that betting trends show Minnesota is 2-5 against
the spread in its last 7 games on the road, but New Orleans is
1-4 against the spread in its last 5 games when playing the
Vikings.
Minnesota's safety Madieu Williams is
out for the Week 5 game and linebacker E.J. Henderson was listed
as doubtful. Questionable for the Vikings remain wide receivers
Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice, tight end Jim Kleinsasser, and
cornerback Benny Sapp, while linebacker Vinny Ciurciu and
defensive end Ray Edwards were upgraded to probable. But the New
Orleans Saints seem to be doing even worse physically, with five
players out of NFL Week 5 football - wide receivers Marques
Colston and David Patten, defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis,
cornerback Aaron Glenn, and tight end Jeremy Shockey will all
miss the Monday night football game due to injuries. Saints
running backs Mike Karney, Olaniyi Sobomehin and Aaron Stecker
were upgraded to probable, and so did wide receiver Terrance
Copper, tight end Mark Campbell and linebacker Troy Evans.
