Curlin odds to win
2008 Breeders Cup, betting odds on Curlin
It's time to close the horse racing year once again with the
Breeders Cup horse racing events and considering the excitement
surrounding Curlin, we have compiled a brief selection of the
odds offered on this prized contender. There is little doubt
that as the top favorite of the 2008 Breeders' Cup Classic,
Curlin will be the most bet on horse this weekend and the
sportsbooks are busy creating various odds on the thoroughbred
racehorse. But before we look at the odds on Curlin, here is
some information on the competitor.
Curlin was foaled March 25, 2004 in
Kentucky, sired by Smart Strike, a former star from the Sam-Son
Farm racing team in Ontario and is out of the mare Sherriff's
Deputy, a daughter of Canadian Horse of the Year and two-time
North American Champion sire, Deputy Minister. The name of the
4-year-old colt comes from Charles Curlin, an African American
slave from western Kentucky. Curlin's fame came after the colt
won the 2007 Preakness Stakes on May 19, beating the Kentucky
Derby winner and favorite Street Sense by a head, after
finishing third in the Kentucky Derby, following Street Sense
and Hard Spun. But Curlin really proved himself after beating
Hard Spun to the finish of the 2007 Breeders' Cup by 4¾ lengths.
The last year's Breeders' Cup was the last time Curlin raced as
3-year-old. In 2008 Curlin began his 4-year-old career at the
2008 Dubai World Cup, defeating a field of five by 2 1⁄4 lengths
and earning the short odds the sportsbooks are offering on the
colt for the 2008 Breeders Cup Classic, set to start in less
than 2 days.
Which takes us to the main part - the
odds on Curlin in the 2008 Breeders Cup event. Curlin is
currently the ultimate favorite to win the Saturday race with
extra short odds 13/8 at the online racebook
BodogLife, compare with the
second favorite odd at 8/1. And now that you know Curlin offers
little value when bet outright to win the Breeders Cup, let's
look at what else is out there to bet on. At BodogLife you can
bet on Breeders Cup Classic and Breeders Cup Ladies Classic
Double Result, where Curlin - Zenyatta duo is favorite with odds
3/1, a much improved payout over the 13/8 odds. Here are more
