Online Gambling: PartyGaming founder in talks with DoJ

The founder of one of the most popular online gambling companies PartyGaming, Anurag Dikshit, is near a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, according to media reports. A report by the Financial Times claimed that the online gambling boss had offered the U.S. $300 million as a settlement and plead guilty to an illegal Internet gambling charge which could net him 2 years behind bars. According to PartyGaming Plc, owner of the Party Poker brand, commented that  any payment by the company would likely be "significantly below" that sum and that the company is not considering any criminal plea. According to FT, Anurag Dikshit is scheduled to appear in front of a New York court and plead guilty to an offence under the Wire Act and agree to cooperate with the Department of Justice. Dikshit is currently holding almost 28% of the PartyGaming online gambling firm.
