2009 Masters: Chad
Campbell odds slashed, Woods at 3/1
The rule of thumb with major golf tournaments in the
recent years - don't rule out Tiger Woods until the very end,
but the 2009 Masters may turn out to be a different story. Chad
Campbell has impressed fans and odds makers to the point where
he is now the favorite to win the 2009 Masters with the popular
online sportsbook
BodogSports after the first
round of the major golf tourney. It's far from uncommon to see
Tiger Woods trailing in the opening round of the tournaments,
but what we haven't seen in a long, long time is his odds
changing in such a way after just one round.
At the BodogSports betting website the
odds on Tiger Woods to win the 2009 Masters went from 7/4
yesterday to 3/1 today! Meanwhile the odds on Chad Campbell to
win the 2009 Masters Golf Tournament were slashed from 100/1 on
the day of the opening round to the shocking 7/4 today! For
those of you who have followed the betting odds on the golf
tournaments such odds change is clearly a shock. Not to mention
that at the time of writing, Chad Campbell was at total -10 and
-3 today at No.11, while Tiger Woods was at No.6 with -3 total
and one under so far in the second round. Even Furyk, who was
yet to tee off today and sitting on -6 total is holding odds 9/1
to win the 2009 Masters. Clearly a great opportunity for those
bettors put off initially by the Tiger Woods extra short odds to
jump back into the game and take advantage of the long odds
offered on Campbell's competition.
