In 2005 Manchester Utd. were beaten by Arsenal at the penalty shoot-outs for the FA Cup. In 2006 the FA Cup winner was also decided by spot-kicks when Liverpool won over West Ham.

The last time Chelsea won the FA Cup was in 2000, and Manchester United took the trophy in 2004.
