American Idol final - Blake vs. Jordin, last
round
Things are heating at the American Idol with
the final coming up and Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks did all
they can to influence the viewers.
For
some reason I have been saying that Jordin will win the American
Idol 6. Things that I personally consider to be in her advantage
are her singing talent (of course), her young age and her good
looks. But the same is kinda true for Blake - entertainment
talent, he looks young and he also looks good in a
college-student kind of way.
Do you want to know what I did not like about
the last nights American Idol? It seemed to me that each one of
them was focusing more on what their opponent's strengths
instead on their own. We all knew already that Jordin sings much
better than Blake, and that he is better suited to entertain the
crowd, but yet, Jordin had to go and sing "Fighter" by Christina
Aguilera - totally not her field, and Blake followed with "She
Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5 - not his cup of Kool Aid, either. At
this point I caught myself agreeing with Simon, which almost
made me turn of the TV...almost.
Ok, back to my point. Everyone is saying that
Jordin will win the American Idol, including the entertainment
bookmaker Bodog, giving her odds to win of -430 to Blake's +265.
But all this make me want to change my mind again, and as Murphy
would say - If so many people say that Jordin will win, than
Blake must be the next American Idol. And look at some of the
emails we got:
Lynn writes short and sweet: "BLAKE LEWIS
HAS TO WIN!"
Barry: "hi, we would like to let you know
that if you think that Jordin will win you are WRONG! it is
soooooo.. you know BLAKE!!! we LOVE BLAKE ! count us 4 people as
a vote for Blake Lewis."
Some anonymous guy/gal: "I think... BLAKE
LEWIS SHOULD BE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL! VOTE FOR BLAKE LEWIS!
YAY!"
And mind you, all these emails made an
excessive use of the exclamation mark. Excessive! Now you make
your own mind.
(Jordin's going to win, though)
