Kings Stand Stakes

Only four days left to the
start of the King's Stand Stakes in the U.K. and the bookmakers
have posted their favorites to win the race.
The King's Stand Stakes will take place on the 19th of June at
the Ascot Racecourse during the Royal Ascot meeting. This race
is the third leg of the Global Sprint Challenge, preceded by the
Newmarket Handicap, and followed by the Golden Jubilee Stakes.
The 2006 winner of the King's Stand Stakes was "Takeover Target"
with jockey Jay Ford and trainer Joe Janiak. This year the race
will start at 3:05 at the Ascot Racecourse with prize money of
£200,000 and a total of 26 runners on 5 furlongs.
Takeover Target is one of the favorites
to win this year's Stakes, as well. Takeover Target finished 7th
at its last race at Newmarket in July of 2006 and this year the
jockey will also be Jay Ford. The U.K. licensed bookmaker
Bet365 online has the odds on
"Takeover Target" to win the Kind's Stand Stakes at 5/1.
The only other horse with better betting
odds off winning the race is "Miss Andretti" with odds of 10/3.
Jockey for "Miss Andretti" will be C. Newitt and trainer is L.
Freedman.
