Andy Roddick and
Nicolas Mahut at the Queen's final
The final pair became known
this afternoon, the Queen's Club final will be between Andy
Roddick and Nicolas Mahut.
The
three-time champion Andy Roddick will play his fourth Queen's
final against the French tennis player Nicolas Mahut.
Roddick took an unquestionable victory
over Dmitry Tursunov with straight sets, taking advantage of the
mistakes made by the Russian player. The 6-4 7-5 victory
of the American was delayed for three hours due to rain. The
second-seeded Andy Roddick has won three consecutive titles in
2003, 2004 and 2005 and if he wins the Queen's Club final he
will equal the record for the most singles titles in the
Wimbledon warm-up.
Nicolas Mahut won his match against
Arnaud Clement 6-3 7-6, a game which had guaranteed France a
representative at the final. Earlier at the quarter-finals Mahut
sent the top seed Rafael Nadal home, turning into an overnight
sensation at the Artois Championships. This will be the first
career ATP final for Nicolas Mahut.
We looked at the odds offered at the
British online bookmakers, and the best were found at
Bet365 online.
The bookie has the odds on Andy Roddick to win the Stella Artois
Championships at only 1.16 (1/6), clearly the favorite to win
the final. Nicolas Mahut, who was off the sportsbooks' radar at
the beginning of the Championship now has the odds on winning
the Queen's final at 4.50 (7/2).
The final of the Queen's Club will start on
Sunday at 13:00pm local time.
