David Beckham
leaves Real Madrid with Spanish title
An amazing comeback for Real
Madrid to capture the Spanish title let David Beckham move to
the U.S. with honors.
Finally
the "Primera Liga" title goes to Real Madrid, since David
Beckham signed with the Spanish club four years ago. Real Madrid
won against Mallorca 3-1 in a must-win football match for the
seven-time European Champion. Barcelona won 5-1 against
Gimnastic, but Real Madrid won the Spanish title on head-to-head
results.
Although Beckham had little to do with the win
against Mallorca, the fans of Real Madrid gave him the ovations
he deserved. After spending most of the season sidelined by
coach Fabio Capello, David Beckham got his chance to take part
at the final game. He was replaced early, due to his injured
ankle, and his replacement José Antonio Reyes scored the last
two goals for Real. Beckham did not allow his short game to rain
of his parade - he finally got the league title in Spain
and could not be happier leaving the Bernabeu on high note.
David Beckham, who joined Real Madrid from
Manchester United for 35 million euros in 2003, will play next
season for L.A. Galaxy in the United States. The contract was
signed for five years and will make $250 for the British player.
