West Ham,
Sheffield United and now Liverpool
The Liverpool chief executive
Rick Parry was called to testify in the West Ham Sheffield
United case.
Parry
was a surprised witness and gave evidence to a London
arbitration panel on behalf of Sheffield United. The relegated
Yorkshire club launched a desperate late bid to get back their
Premiership status using the Carlos Tevez controversy.
Sheffield United is seeking change of
the verdict to fine West Ham rather than docking points. The
Blades are hoping that the panel will rule in their favor and
they will be able to get back in the Premiership by sending West
Ham to relegation.
The Premiership’s governing body has
gone ahead with charting out the fixtures for the next season
considering that Sheffield United have been relegated along with
Charlton Athletic and Watford. The panel has no power to decide
what should the punishment on West Ham be, all they can do is
order West Ham to face another disciplinary commission if it
finds the decision not to dock points was flawed.
