Uefa U21: Holland
beats England on penalties
At the semi-finals of the
European U21 Championship, an extraordinary shoot-out 13-12 gave
the win to Holland.
The
host team secured their spot on the U21 final after winning
13-12 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in normal time. Leroy
Lita's first-half strike was ruled out by a last-minute
equalizer from Maceo Rigters. England U21 had looked to be on
their way to the final for the first time since 1984 until
Rigters' goal.

Serbia U21 is the other team on the final. The
Serbians won against Belgium 2-0 and will play Holland U21.
Aleksandar Kolarov and Dragan Mrdja scored for the Serbian
victory today.
The final of the European Championship U21 is
on Saturday.
Italy U21 and Portugal U21 will play tomorrow
for the fourth spot on the Olympics.
