Alex Rodriguez
(A-Rod) with the biggest All-Star bonus
All the controversy
surrounding the Yankee player Alex Rodriguez A-Rod does little
to hurt his checkbook.
He
could be caught cheating, his wife with an obscene T-shirt at a
stadium full with kids, but Alex Rodriguez still gets the
biggest bonus of the All-Star team - $200,000. Total of $2.13
million in bonuses was earned by players picked for the July 10th
game in San Francisco, according to an Associate Press study.
Alex Rodriguez got paid $100,000 for
getting selected to the All-Star team. The Yankees third baseman
scooped an additional $100,000 for finishing with the most votes
in his league in fan balloting.
Players receiving $100,000 All-Star
bonus provisions were Carlos Beltran from the New York Mets,
Vladimir Guerrero from L.A. Angels, Derrek Lee from the
Cubs; Magglio Ordonez and Ivan Rodriguez from Detroit and
Sabathia from Cleveland.
