Mirthala Salinas - Telemundo anchor with L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa

Just before the story was blown out as a scandal, the L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa went public admitting his relationship with Mirthala Salinas.

"It is true that I have a relationship with Ms. Mirthala Salinas. As I've said I take full responsibility for my actions, and I once again ask that people respect my family's privacy. For my part, I intend to stay focused on my job, and to work as hard as I can every day to be the best mayor I can be."

Mirthala Salinas is a gorgeous Telemundo reporter and anchorwoman for Channel 52. Salinas is currently off the political reporting for Channel 52, and according to Telemundo statements, she has been covering other newsworthy aspects for almost an year now. Answering to rumors, Antonio Villaraigosa said that Mirthala Salinas is not pregnant.

The public statement of Villaraigosa revealing that he and Mirthala Salinas have been "bumping uglies" couldn't come in a worst time for the L.A. public official. Antonio Villaraigosa is in the process of a divorce from his wife Corina, and many suspect that his wife found out about the relationship between Villaraigosa and Mirthala Salinas, when she filled for divorce early last month. The Villaraigosas have been married for over 20 years, and the L.A. Mayor stated, before the affair with Mirthala Salinas, that he would take all the blame for the failed marriage.
