Al Gore III, the
son of former VP Al Gore, charged with drug possession
The son of the former
Vice President Al Gore, has been charged on drug possession
offences.
Al
Gore III has been officially charged on drug offences, after he
was pulled over by the police earlier this month in California
and drugs were discovered in his car. Al Gore's son faces two
felony counts of drug possession, two misdemeanor counts of drug
possession without a prescription and one misdemeanor count of
marijuana possession. On top of the drug-related charges, Gore
III will add to the list a traffic infraction for allegedly
driving faster than 100mph.
Al Gore III is currently free on bail until
August 1st, when he is scheduled to appear before Superior Court
in Laguna Niguel and face the charges.
The son of Al Gore was pulled over on July
4th after he was clocked going over 100mph in a fuel-efficient
Toyota Prius. A smell of marijuana prompted the police to search
the vehicle, in which they discovered some pot and bottles
containing Valium, Vicadin, Xanax, and Adderall. All of those
drugs are by prescription only, which Gore III did not have.
Al Gore III could face up to three years in
jail for the offences, but may be eligible for a drug rehab
program.
