iPhone hacker
George Hotz gets new car for phone
George Hotz, famous overnight
for hacking the iPhone from AT&T, gets a new Nissan 350Z from
CertiCell.
We already reported on the iPhone hack which unlocks the
iPhone from AT&T to use with any other carrier, and you can even
see the video by following the link below. But the fame George
Hotz got for his hack is yet to diminish.
The 17-year-old had announced on his
blog that he will sell the first ever hacked iPhone on the
auction site eBay. But today he posted that a deal has been
struck between him and "CertiCell", a Kentucky-based mobile
phone repair company, in which he is trading the iPhone for a
brand new Nissan 350Z and three new 8GB iPhones. "This has been a great
end to a great summer," George Hotz posted.
CertiCell also guaranteed the teen a
paid consulting job with the company. "We do not have any plans
on the table right now to commercialize Mr. Hotz' discovery,"
Terry Daidone, co-founder of CertiCell said in a statement, but
the Internet is already bussing about the deal CertiCell made for
the unlocked iPhone.
