West Virginia wins 48-23 against Marshall
West Virginia University
scored 42 points in the second half to beat Marshall University
on Saturday 48 to 23.
Tough break for the Marshall University football fans, as the
watched West Virginia University piling up 42 points in the
second half for a 48-23 victory. The Herd did good in the
first half, going to the locker rooms with a lead 13-6, but when
the football resumed in the second half it was all about West
Virginia.
The Mountaineers quickly tied in the first minutes,
then allowed Marshall to take the lead for the last time with a
field goal and then left the Herd play catch-up, rather
unsuccessfully. Marshall University had the chance to turn
the tie up to the fourth quarter, staying a touchdown away from
lead, but three more TDs by West Virginia wrote 48-23 on the
scoreboard.
West Virginia Pat White and Steve Slaton
worked out perfectly today, White threw for two touchdowns and
ran for another finishing with 124 yard, Slaton rushed for two
scores and 146 yards. For Marshall, Bernard Morris was 19 for
29, 258 yards and threw for two touchdowns, as well.
The
finals score 48-23 was OVER the posted point spread of 64, with
a payout of -115, as offered by
Bodog Sports.
