Two online casino
licenses issued in Nevada
Slow
and steady wins the race and it appears that the gambling
companies are well on their way to win the race to online casino
legalization in the United States. Two online casino licenses
have been issued in Nevada to the slots machine manufacturers
IGT and Bally. The licenses issued are to give those companies
the option to license out online casino software to casinos in
the state of Nevada, those casinos in turn also have to go
through a rigorous process of approval by the Gaming Commission.
Bally Technologies and International
Gaming Technology (IGT) are the two companies recipients of the
brand new online casino licenses in Nevada. Fans of casino
gambling may recognize the names of these two companies, likely
seen their logos on the video slots they play at the local
gambling hall - two of the largest manufacturers of slot
machines for the land-based casinos in the United States. This
was the first step, the next being that both Bally and IGT must
have their online gambling technology approved by a
state-accredited testing lab to ensure that they are up to par
to offer online casino services safely and securely. The next
step will be to license out the said technologies to licenses
Nevada casinos, which in turn must also complete an approval
process by the Nevada Gaming Commission for operating online
gambling enterprise.
Nevada, as expected, was one of the first
states to pass a bill making online gambling legal, after the
in-state internet betting was settled on federal level.
According to comments from people in the know, actual online
casino gambling could be expected in Nevada as soon as the end
of this year.
