NFL Playoffs Line:
San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers spread
The
final game in the NFL Playoffs wild card will be the San
Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers and here we will take a
look at the latest line and point spread on the game. The Green
Bay Packers (8-7-1) will welcome on Saturday the San Francisco
49ers (12-4), in what will likely be the coldest NFL Playoffs
game ever played. And while much is being said about the weather
and how unprepared the 49ers are going to be for the insanely
cold temperatures expected at Lambeau Field today, the Packers
have made it to the playoffs with a record barely over .500,
while San Francisco has been a great performer in the NFC West
all season.
So there is little surprise that the odds
makers are looking to the 49ers as the potential winners of the
final NFL Playoffs wild card game this weekend. We checked with
two of our preferred online sportsbooks for the latest line
and point spread on the 49ers - Packers game and this is
what we found. Hours away from the start of this playoffs game,
at
Bookmaker the 49ers held the
favorite line -150 to secure a victory in the freezing Wisconsin
air, while the Packers will come out underdog with +130 line.
small difference in the odds on the game at another top
sportsbook,
Bovada Sports, where the line
on San Francisco is at -155 and the line on Green Bay is +135
for an upset by the Packers tonight. While these lines could
appear to be small, compared to regular season odds, as we have
seen from the previous three Playoffs wild card games, the odds
this year will be very tight and the sportsbooks are certainly
taking the conservative route. The San Francisco 49ers vs.
Green Bay Packers point spread is -3 points chalk the 49ers
at both odds makers, but the line on San Francisco to cover the
spread is at -105, which indicates that it could be lowered
(maybe to 2.5 points) by the start of the game, so lock in your
spread early, if you favor the 49ers. The over/under on the game
is at 46 points at all sportsbooks.
Looking at the point spread stats on the
two playoffs teams today, we find that San Francisco is 1-3-1
against the spread in its last 5 games when playing on the road
against Green Bay and the Packers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9
games overall, while the 49ers have covered the spread in 6 of
their last 7 games on the road. Also keep in mind that the total
has gone OVER in 6 of San Francisco's last 8 games when playing
on the road against the Green Bay Packers.
Luckily for Green Bay, only linebacker Clay
Matthews has been listed as out for the playoffs game against
the 49ers, while linebackers Brad Jones and Nick Perry, along
with running back Eddie Lacy and defensive end Mike Neal have
been upgraded to probable for the NFL Playoffs wild card game.
At San Francisco corners Carlos Rogers and Eric Wright, along
with linebackers Dan Skuta remain questionable for the game in
Green Bay, while the rest of the 49ers injuries were upgraded to
probable.
