NFL Playoffs Odds: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts line and spread

NFL Playoffs Odds: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts line and spread Saturday will mark the start of the 2014 NFL Playoffs with the wild-card games, today we will begin our odds and point spread coverage with the line on the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts. The Colts managed to finish the season atop a rather weak AFC South division with 11-5 record and will take the home advantage for the wild-card game against Kansas City. The Chiefs are holding the same 11-5 record for the football season at a much tougher AFC West division, which saw three of the four teams crossing the 0.500 mark, compared to just the Colts in the AFC South. And while the Colts will start the playoffs with a 2-game winning streak, the Chiefs have lost the last two games, which could've cost them the top spot in the division, including losing their last game to division opponent San Diego Chargers. But we will look at some more stats on this 2014 NFL Playoffs game a bit later, let's get right to the meat and potatoes – the line and point spread on the Playoffs game Kansas City at Indianapolis.

As always we look at the two most popular sportsbooks to see what the lines and spreads on the NFL Playoffs games will be and today will be no different. We visited with Bookmaker and Bovada Sports and as expected – a tough game to call. Betting action is also on the up to the point that the line and spread already changed once from the time we begin writing to this very moment. Right now at both Bookmaker and Bovada the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts point spread is at “pick”, although not to long ago the sportsbooks had the Colts slight favorite against the spread at -1 point. Bettors clearly took advantage and now the spread is “pick”. For those who are new to sports betting, it simply means that the point spread is “0”, whichever team wins the game will cover the spread. The situation is pretty much the same with the line – until a while ago there was actually no line at all on the Chiefs - Colts game! For the many years we have been covering the NFL Playoffs, we can count on one hand how many times we have had no money line on a Playoffs game less than a day before kickoff. Tough, tough game to call for both bettors and odds makers alike. Right now the line on the Kansas City Chiefs is and the line on the Indianapolis Colts to win this playoff game is "updating". The total expected by both odds makers is set at 46 points even with over and under paying out on -110 line.

And let's look at some stats, as promised earlier, starting with the betting stats. Kansas City is 6-2 straight-up in its last 8 games on the road, but the Chiefs have won just one of their last 6 games against Indianapolis on the road. Meanwhile the Colts have won 12 of their last 14 games at home and the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Indianapolis's last 5 games when playing at home against Kansas City. The Chiefs have managed to cover the spread only 3 times in their last 14 meetings with the Colts, although none of the point spread has been a “pick” in those games. The Chiefs, however, have been statistically better in offense and defense this season, averaging 26.9 points on the offense and allowing just 19.1 pts average per game, compared to the Colts 24.4 and 21.0 points respectively.

Our NFL Playoffs Pick: We are going with the Colts winning by a field goal.
