A
little less than a month until the 2010 Oscars, but the
sportsbooks waste no time and have already posted the odds on
this year's Academy Awards nominees to win in their respective
categories. The 82nd Academy Awards, a.k.a. the Oscars, will
take place March 7 in Los Angeles, hosted by Alec Baldwin and
Steve Martin and considering the great selection of movies 2009
saw, it's bound to be an exciting evening for the movie buffs
and actors alike. And as we mentioned - the online sportsbooks
have already began posting the early odds on the Oscar winners,
right after the nominations were announced this month. So let's
see the odds on the 2010 Oscars:

with odds 5/4 to win the Best Picture Award this year. Distant
third is "Up in the Air" with long odds 10/1, here is the full

The Blind Side - 40/1
The Hurt Locker - 5/4
Up - 50/1
Up in the Air - 10/1
Moving on with the next Oscars category,
the one for Best Actor. Odds at

Bridges (Crazy Heart) as the ultimate favorite to go home with
the 82nd Academy Award for Best Actor with short odds 1/7.
According to the Oscars odds competition comes from George
Clooney (Up in the Air) at 17/4 and Colin Firth (A Single Man)
with 10/1 odds to win the Best Actor Award. Sandra Bullock is
the favorite to win this year's Best Actress award for her role
in "The Blind Side" with odds 2/5, followed by Meryl Streep
(Julie & Julia) at 7/4 and Carey Mulligan (An Education) with
odds 7/1 to win Best Actress at the 2010 Oscars.
And finally the odds on the Academy
Award for Best Director will also see a head-to-head match with
Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) being the favorite with 2/7
odds, closely followed by Avatar's director James Cameron. Also
in the race for the 2010 Oscars in the Best Director category
are Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) with 16/1 odds to win, Quentin
