Miami Dolphins:
Trent Green with Grade 3 concussion
Trent Green, starting
quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, has been diagnosed with
severe concussion.
The
quarterback of the Miami Dolphins (0-5), Trent Green, was
suffered a Grade 3 concussion (the most severe) during the loss
to the Houston Texans on Sunday. Trent Green laid motionless on
the field for a few minutes after the Houston defensive tackle
Travis Johnson made a legal cut block and his knee hit the head
of the Miami quarterback. Green was taken to a local hospital,
but released to go home with the team, despite the severity of
his injury. The full extend is yet unknown, Grade 3 concussion
could certainly end a football player's career, especially since
this is not the first serious concussion for Green - last year
he missed eight games after a collision in a game against the
Kansas City Chiefs.
At this time coach Cam Cameron has ruled
Trent Green from the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns,
but he refused to give a timetable for the quarterback's return
to the team, or if he should retire after a 14-year long career
in the NFL. Cleo Lemon, who substituted Green after the injury,
will be the starting quarterback for the game against Cleveland.
