Week 11 point
spread: Steelers vs. Jets, Rams vs. 49ers
The Week 11 NFL point spread
and odds preview of the games Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York
Jets and St. Louis Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers.
On
Sunday the struggling New York Jets (1-8) will welcome
the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2) and things are just not
looking good for them. There is no surprise that the Steelers
are favorites with betting odds -500 and the Jets are dog with
odds +350 at the online bookmaker
Bodog Sports. The point
spread on the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets game is
posted at -10 points chalk the Steelers and the total is sitting
at 40 points. Betting trends indicate that Pittsburgh is 10-4
against the spread in its last 14 games and the NY Jets are
1-5-1 against the spread in their last 7 games.
The Jets remain at the bottom of the NFL
rankings in defense and offense and if they could beat the
Steelers No.1 ranked defense on Sunday, it will be the biggest
upset ever. Pittsburgh's running backs Dan Kreider and Willie
Parker have been upgraded to probable and are expected to join
the team in New York, and so does LB Andre Frazier. Latest
reports indicate that Jets will feature Kellen Clemens as the
starting quarterback once again, even though Chad Pennington was
upgraded to probable this weekend. NY Jets TEs Joe Kowalewski
and Chris Baker, DE C.J. Mosley and WR Brad Smith are all
expected to be ready for the Sunday football game. At this
point, however, there is no reason to believe that the
Pittsburgh Steelers would fail to cover the -10 points spread.
Also on Sunday the St. Louis Rams
(1-8) will visit the San Francisco 49ers (2-7) and this
game could bring some nice betting action this weekend. The Rams
did a number on the Saints last week 37-29 and
Bodog Sports have taken notice
and placed St. Louis as the favorite on their betting sheet this
week with odds -160 and the 49ers are underdog with odds +140.
The point spread on the St. Louis Rams vs. San Francisco
49ers is currently sitting at -3 points chalk the Rams with
the total at 39.5 points. Keep in mind that St. Louis is 2-7
against the spread in its last 9 games and San Francisco is 1-6
ATS in its last 7 games.
The 49ers quarterback Alex Smith has
been upgraded to probable for the Sunday game, but QB Shaun Hill
remains questionable and coach Mike Nolan said that veteran
Trent Dilfer will start against the Rams. Wide receiver Ashley
Lelie is out for Week 11 and so is DT Aubrayo Franklin. The St.
Louis Rams have listed WRs Isaac Bruce and Dante Hall as
probable for the Week 11 game and C Brett Romberg is the only
questionable player on the team for Sunday.
