Britney Spears in
the news: lawsuits and driving
With career nearly dead,
Britney Spears remains leader in the celebrity gossip news.
With
all the drama surrounding Britney Spears one could easily lose
track of what's going on with the pop-star, the latest - French
luxury goods company "Louis Vuitton" has just won its lawsuit
against Britney Spears. Louis Vuitton filed the lawsuit against
the singer, because of a pink Vuitton-upholstered dashboard in
her music video "Do Something". The lawsuit was filed in Paris,
and although Britney herself has not fined for the trademark
infringement, Sony BMG and MTV Online were ordered to stop
playing the video and were fined 80,000 euros each.
This comes in addition to another
lawsuit Britney Spears is facing - for allegedly trashing a $1.5
million apartment in Marina Del Rey, California. Real-estate
agent Amir E. Zagross is now threatening to sue the pop-star for
all the damages done to the apartment Britney rented in April of
2006. "I met Britney at the condo myself with her mother,
brother, sons and her bodyguards. They assured me they were
immaculate, nice people who would take care of the property. But
the damage was significant," the real estate agent was
quoted in Life & Style magazine.
But not all news about Britney Spears
are bad - she had finally hired a car driver. After a judge
banned Britney from driving around with her two children in the
car, she finally broke down and hired a driver to haul them
around. Better late then never. “You look at the footage of
Britney running the red light – there’s eight guys with cameras
at night in the middle of the street. There are no rules now.
It’s getting to a point where people that are not involved are
getting hurt," George Clooney defended Britney Spears
red-light incident recently, but considering Britney's driving
record, hiring a driver could have been a matter of life and
death.
