USC vs. Arizona
State: Point spread and odds
Betting preview, including
point spread and odds, of the Thanksgiving college football game
between USC and Arizona State.
Great
Thanksgiving for all football fans this year with a major
college football game, which will see No.11 USC (8-2)
battling the No.7 Arizona State (9-1) in a PAC-10 matchup.
Sixth straight conference title is on the line for the Trojans
and the Sun Devils will look to settle the score and remain atop
of the PAC-10. But the odds makers don't seem worried about
Arizona State and at the online betting firm
Bookmaker USC has been listed
as the favorite to win this Week 13 game with odds -160 and
Arizona State will now be underdog at home with money line +140.
At the online sportsbook
Bodog Sports, the point
spread on the USC vs. Arizona State is currently sitting at
-3.5 points chalk USC with the total at 48.5 points. Keep in
mind that Southern Cal is 4-1 against the spread in its last 5
games and Arizona State is 2-5 against the spread in its last 7
games when playing Southern Cal.
After Oregon lost star quarterback
Dennis Dixon and two games, USC has a good chance to jump on the
PAC-10 race, but a win against the leader Arizona State is a
must. But much is riding on this game for the Sun Devils, as
well. A win against the Trojans and then Arizona on December 1st
will guarantee the Sun Devils the PAC-10 title, and if Oregon
trips once again - the Rose Bowl. Not to mention that
statistically Arizona State has a shot at the Bowl Championship
Series title game. At the end it will come down to who wants it
more.
Both USC and Arizona State have been
struck by injuries but Southern Cal could be impacted more with
DEs Trey Henderson and Kyle Moore still questionable for the
game against Arizona State. Other USC player to miss the game
against Arizona State include the wide receivers Jamere Holland
and Travis Patterson, and Ts Sam Baker and Thomas Herring are
also questionable for Week 13. Questionable for Arizona State
are TE Dane Guthrie, DL Michael Marquardt, CB Travis Smith and
running back Jarrell Woods. When the two teams met last year USC
beat Arizona State 28-21.
