Four people have been arrested
by the London police in a continuing investigation into English
football fraud.
Four people have been arrested as part of a continuing
investigation into English football fraud, London police said.
The cops declined to name the arrested, but said their age was
69, 55, 48 and 30. City of London police said the men were
arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false
accounting, an investigation still in the works and three
separate searches were being conducted today, in relations to
the case. According to the authorities, two other men were
questioned earlier this year in connection with the same
investigation into English football corruption, which has
initiated more than an year ago, one of them rumored to be
Tottenham Hotspur defender Pascal Chimbonda.
According to the British Guardian, the
investigation follows the launching of an inquiry into transfer
deals between English Premier League clubs and found serious
breaches of the sport's rules. The Premier League has commented
that the breaches of the rules being considered include payments
by clubs directly to third parties and failure to disclose
payments made by agents to other agents or third parties.
