Coach Bobby
Petrino leaves the Atlanta Falcons for NCAA football
The Atlanta Falcons rookie
head coach Bobby Petrino resigned on Tuesday, Arkansas move
rumored.
The
experiment of head coach Bobby Petrino with fresh players proved
unsuccessful and the Atlanta Falcons coach announced today his
resignation. Bobby Petrino signed a 5-year $24 million contract
with the Falcons earlier this year, coming from the University
of Louisville to replace fired Jim Mora. But with 3-10 record in
his first year on the job and increased criticism from the
veteran players, especially cornerback DeAngelo Hall, for
favoring the rookies over them, Petrino resigned on Tuesday.
According to the latest rumors, Bobby Petrino is considering
taking the head coaching job at the Arkansas Razorback. Atlanta
Falcons owner Arthur Blank and general manager Rich McKay are
scheduled to give press conference and discuss the head coach
resignation on Wednesday.
Atlanta Falcons will play the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers on Sunday.
