Playoffs line and
point spread: Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers
The betting line and point
spread on the divisional NFL playoff game Seattle Seahawks vs.
Green Bay Packers.
Last
week NFL fans had the chance to see the wild cards and this
weekend is time for the big boys to meet up in the divisional
playoffs. We will start the betting preview of the NFL
divisional playoff games with the Saturday matchup between the
Seattle Seahawks (10-6) and the Green Bay Packers
(13-3), where we have some interesting trend among the bettors
and the odds makers this week. To start with the betting
numbers, at the online sportsbook
Bodog Sports, the point
spread on the Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers playoff
game is currently sitting at -8 points chalk the Packers with
the total currently set at 42 points. The Packers are also odds
favorite to win this divisional playoff game with money line at
-395 and the Seahawks are underdog on Saturday, the betting line
on Seattle is posted at +325. And exactly these betting lines
are driving the punters wild and the bettors have not only made
the Seahawks - Packers playoff game the most bet on event this
week, but also the majority of the people are actually making
the Seattle Seahawks their favorites in hope to make out big of
the bookmakers' generous lines and spread on the game. If the
Packers fail to deliver on Saturday, the bookies will be in big
trouble.
The Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay
Packers have already met this year in a pre-season game on
August 18th, which the Packers won 48-13 and little has changed
in both teams since. But the wild card game between the Seahawks
and the Redskins, which Seattle won 14-35, is a clear indication
that the Seahawks are anything but giving up on the Super Bowl
berth and will give the Packers hell on Saturday, although the
Packers are leading the Seattle on all stats, although not by a
large margin. Green Bay remains second in the NFL by total
offense with 370.7 yards per game for 27.2 points on average,
while the Seahawks post 348.9 yards for 24.6 points per game.
The Packers defense allows 313.3 yards and 18.2 points and the
Seattle defense allows 321.8, also for 18.2 points.
The Green Bay Packers will come to the
field well rested and Brett Favre has passed for 4155 yards this
season, well ahead of the Seattle's Hasselbeck with 3966 yards.
The Seahawks will depend once again on Shaun Alexander for their
rushing game, Alexander posting 716 rushing yards this season
for 4 touchdowns and average of 3.5 yard per rush, but the
Packers will counter with Ryan Grant, who rushed for 956 yards
and 8 TDs this season, for an average of 5.1 yards per rush. The
betting trends on the teams show that Seattle is 7-2 against the
spread in its last 9 games and Green Bay is 8-2 against the
spread in its last 10 games. But on the head-to-head, Seattle is
4-1-1 against the spread in its last 6 games when playing on the
road against Green Bay. Also, keep in mind that the total has
gone OVER in 5 of Green Bay's last 7 games at home. At
Bodog, the line on the Green
Bay Packers to win the NFC is 19/10 and the line on the Seattle
Seahawks is posted as 6/1.
