Britney Spears
causes minor car accident on the highway
The
misfortunes of pop-star Britney Spears behind the wheel
continue, this time the singer caused a minor car accident on
the California's Ventura Freeway. According to the report by the
California Highway Patrol, Britney Spears was stuck in
stop-and-go traffic in her new Mercedes, when her car struck a
Nissan in front of her that had stopped. The Nissan then pushed
forward into another vehicle, but the entire incident left no
damage on the vehicles and no injuries to the occupants. "She
failed to notice that the vehicle in front of her had come to a
complete stop. She attempted to brake but failed to stop her
vehicle prior to colliding with a 2006 Nissan," California
Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball was quoted. Kimball also
mentioned that despite the rumors, Britney Spears was not given
a DUI test, California Highway Patrol took a report and no one
was cited in the accident.
The latest driving accident follows
numerous others, last year Britney Spears avoided a hit-and-run
charge after paying an undisclosed amount of money to the owner
of a vehicle into which she allegedly crashed in a parking lot,
and in 2006 Spears was photographed driving with one of her sons
on her lap, rather than strapped into the car seat. And in
October of 2007, Britney Spears pleaded not guilty to a
misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid driver's license
and later obtained a temporary California license.
