Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon up for engagement rumors Spotting a large diamond ring on Mariah Carey’s wedding finger at the after-party for her new film Tennessee is all it took for engagement rumors between the singer and her boyfriend Nick Cannon. The after-party was at the Cadillac Lounge at Tenjune, following the "Tennessee" premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and the couple was inseparable in Tenjune's VIP room. When asked about a possible engagement, Nick Cannon's rep had no comment, but this hardly cooled the engagement rumors - the size of the ring is no help either. "I'm in love with my dog. He is my special someone. I love spending time with him," was Mariah Carey's polite attempt to avoid the engagement discussions. In her new film, Mariah Carey plays Krystal, a troubled diner waitress and aspiring singer who tackles personal demons while on a road trip to Tennessee. This is her first appearance on the big screen since 2001's Glitter.

If the rumors of engagement between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are true, this would be the second time in less than an year the actor is giving away a diamond ring. In May of last year Nick Cannon proposed to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks and she accepted, but the couple called off their engagement in October.
