American Idol: David Cook big favorite today

American Idol: David Cook big favorite today The performance round of the "American Idol" is behind us and if one thing got changed, it was the odds on David Cook to win the popular reality competition. Last night each of the final three contestants had to perform three songs and here is the list, in the order sang by the Idol hopefuls: David Cook did Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", Switchfoot's "Dare You to Move" and Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing". And indeed Cook hardly missed a beat, crowned by many in the media the winner of last night's performance round. His singing last night improved his odds to win American Idol drastically, David Cook is now listed with odds 2/5 to win the Idol at the online bookmaker BodogSports, a gambling websites which offers betting on the American Idol and various other entertainment events. On Tuesday David Archuleta sang Billy Joel's "And So It Goes", Chris Brown's "With You" and Dan Fogelberg's "Longer". Archuleta failed to match Cook this round (maybe he missed his dad), but still hangs in there for the final round, listed with odds to win the American Idol at 9/4.

It's pretty much a consensus between the Idol fans that the winner this year will be decided between David Cook and David Archuleta. Which brings us to the underdog of the final three - Syesha Mercado, who went with Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You", Peggy Lee's "Fever" and Gia Farrell's "Hit Me Up". Syesha Mercado has no chance of reaching the American Idol finale, so much so that the odds makers at BodogSports would pay out 50/1 if she wins the Idol. It's all in your hands now, grab your phone and vote who would be eliminated from American Idol next.
