Pistons vs.
Celtics: Odds favor Boston tonight in Game 5
Tonight
is the Game 5 of the NBA's Eastern Conference playoff finals
between the Detroit Pistons and the Boston Celtics, and although
the Pistons managed to tie the series at 2-2, they are big
underdog on Wednesday. At the online sportsbook
BodogSports, the Boston Celtics
are -6 favorite against the spread for Game 5, with the total
sitting at 173 points. The Celtics are -225 favorite, while the
Detroit Pistons will be once again the underdog with odds to win
the fifth game in the conference finals series at +215. Keep in
mind that Detroit is 13-6 against the spread in its last 19
games, while Boston is 12-4 against the spread in its last 16
games at home and the Celtics are 5-16 SU in their last 21 games
when playing the Pistons. The low total for the finals game
tonight stems from the fact that Detroit is the toughest team to
score on in the league, allowing just 90.1 points per game and
Boston has the second stingiest defence in the league at 90.3
points per game. In the big picture, Boston Celtics are still
second favorite to win the 2008 NBA Championship after the
Lakers with odds 5/2 and the Pistons sit on odds 9/2 to become
the NBA Champion this season.
