Gina Gershon
denies Bill Clinton affair report
Actress
Gina Gershon has demanded a retraction and correction from
Vanity Fair, who was named her as a possible paramour to the
former president Bill Clinton. The article in question published
by Vanity Fair attacked Bill Clinton, claiming the former
president is "seeing a lot of women on the road." "Over the
last few years, aides have winced … at more recent high-end
Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen
visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California," read
the part of the article which prompted Gina Gershon to demand a
retraction.
"Through the innuendo-laden assertion
that Ms. Gershon has been ‘visiting’ with President Clinton in
California, the article outrageously insinuates that Ms. Gershon
has had an inappropriate sexual relationship with President
Clinton. This is absolutely false … and she is extremely
offended by the false and defamatory inference that she engaged
in an adulterous relationship with the president," read a
letter from Gina Gershon’s attorney Lynda B. Goldman of Lavely &
Singer law firm. Gina Gershon's last TV appearance was on
"Rescue Me", she also played in the 2007 movie "P.S. I Love You"
as Shaon.
Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign has
apologized for Bill Clinton's remarks about the reporter,
calling him a "scumbag and a real slimy guy," saying the former
president used "inappropriate language". "Vanity Fair stands
behind the article and Purdum's reporting," was the reaction
of the magazine. This scandal is set to continue well into the
week.
