Belmont Stakes
Results: Winner is Da' Tara, Big Brown last
In
a major upset today, Da' Tara was the winner of the 2008 Belmont
Stakes, Big Brown failing to deliver on Triple Crown
expectations. Da' Tara, starting from position 6, had little
trouble winning the race and was one of the distant contenders
with odds 30/1 before the race at the online bookmaker
BodogSports. Da'Tara, winner of
the Breeder's Cup race last year, took the lead from the start
of the race and held it all the way to the end, sitting atop of
the Belmont Stakes results board. Denis of Cork finished second,
followed by Anak Nakal. The Belmont Stakes results not only saw
Big Brown missing to win the Triple Crown, but after the great
performance at the Kentucky and Preakness, Big brown will now go
down in history as the only Triple Crown favorite to finish last
at the Belmont Stakes. Congratulations to all the bettors lucky
enough to take Da' Tara as the winner of the 2008 Belmont
Stakes.
