College Football:
West Virginia vs. Maryland spread and odds
College football resumes on
Thursday with the top 25 game of West Virginia against Maryland;
we look at the betting odds, spread and lines on the game
outcome.
The
West Virginia Mountaineers (2-0) will open Week 3 of college
football when the visit the Maryland Terrapins (2-0) on Thursday
night at Byrd Stadium. The fourth-ranked West Virginia won their
last game on Saturday against Marshall 48-23, but 42 of the
Mountaineers' points came in the second half and the team hopes
to do much better from the beginning of the upcoming game
against the Terrapins. Maryland didn't have an easy win for the
26-10 against Florida International in NCAAF Week 2, either. But
the odds are heavily stacked against Maryland, who are 2-10
against ranked team since 2004 and the last time West Virginia
came to Maryland, the Mountaineers won the game 45-24 in
September of 2006.
The odds makers have already listed West
Virginia as the favorite to win the Thursday college football
game.
Bookmaker is offering odds on
the Mountaineers of -1000 (you need to bet 100 to win 10) and
Maryland is underdog with betting odds set at +700. The bettors
are expecting a crushing defeat with the West Virginia -
Maryland point spread set currently at -16.5 in favor of West
Virginia and the total is at 65.5 at
Bookmaker.
The betting trends of the Mountaineers -
Terrapins games show that West Virginia is 2-5 against the
spread in its last 7 games when playing Maryland and 1-4 ATS in
its last 5 games when playing on the road against the Terrapins.
Maryland is 8-1 SU in its last 9 games at home and the total has
gone OVER in 7 of West Virginia's last 8 games.
Questionable due to previous injuries
for college football Week 3 are the following West Virginia
players: DL Keilein Dykes, DB Ridwan Malik, LB Archie Sims and
WR Nate Sowers.
The West Virginia vs. Maryland game
starts on September 13th at 7:45pm at the Grass of Byrd Stadium,
MD.
