Central Station always seemed so smoky and crowded to me. It
seems like all the tour buses come there. They have good
promotions, and one of my favorite contests they had that I
didn't win was the summer they gave away about 20 vintage
Corvettes.

I live in Colorado and have played at many casinos. My personal
experience is the Central Station does not pay as well as most
other casinos. It is smoky in the casino and the food selection
is marginal. |

What a great place to play! The staff is very friendly, the
machines very loose and their margaritas are to die for! Best
place in Colorado! It's the only casino I can almost always
count on walking away a winner and always having a good time.
Did I mention how amazingly friendly the staff is. |

This was my 1st trip to Black Hawk this past weekend and for
the most part I had a great time at Ameristar (great place!).
Then I went to the Riviera before I left and my experience
completely changed I had went to the buffet to get something to
eat and the person running it was very rude and I left without
eating there and went somewhere else I had talked to one person
there who was friendly/personable. So I would tell anyone to
skip the Riviera and go somewhere else like Ameristar or another
fine Casino.

The few times that I've been at the Lodge I felt that the
machines were tighter than other places in Blackhawk, BUT the
buffets were the best in the Blackhawk and Central City Area.

At the beginning I didn't like the Lodge casino, but after
awhile I became pretty comfortable. Lots of machines that can be
loose at times. I love the buffet and almost always eat free
because of my comps. Now I live far away and miss it very much.

Never liked The Lodge much, although it has its loyal customers
who swear by it. I think it's the decor there that puts me off -
somehow it comes across as cheap and tacky. Hard to explain,
it's just a general feeling of unease I get there.
Gambling-wise, my overall impression has been
that I wasn't very lucky there, and the promotions I received
were nothing to write home about.

The buffet was very good, as good or better than the Riviera
Blackhawk. I was disappointed that so many of the machines were
higher denominations - more 50 cent machines than other
casinos such as the Riviera or the Isle of
Capri. The general ambience was nice, except for the tacky art
scenes that are supposed to give a sense of the Rocky Mountain
setting for this place. |
