From Jennifer: This hotel/casino is in a beautiful location - perched right on the beach on a small bluff, overlooking waves that are lit at night. The casino is roomy enough, bi-level with a two story vaulted entry decorated with Native Indian memorabilia.
The downside to this casino is that it is a bit dirtier than I'd like- especially in the dining areas (gross). While this is acceptable for the average traveler, just don't stare into the kitchen and inspect things like the doors when you are standing in the buffet line.
This is a pretty popular casino for nearby Portlanders, and can be downright packed during peak holidays. However, nearby Spirit Mountain Casino (the greatest revenue-generating Oregon casino due to its sport betting opportunities), absorbs a majority of big-city travelers.
Overall, Chinook Winds Casino and Lincoln City are a great vacation spot, with activities for the entire family.
