Casinos
in Michigan
Our current list of
casinos in Michigan.
Interesting facts about
Michigan: Did you know that despite the fact that there are not as
many casinos in Michigan, as lets say,
California, almost 85% of the residents
have gambled? Also, non-Indian casinos are illegal everywhere in the
state, except in Detroit, and that's only three casinos can operate in
Detroit at all times.

From L:
This is a cool place, I've been here a couple times. I've had
some luck winning here, at least they have loose machines and
see others winning. |

From L: I
recently visited here for the first time. It's kind of a smaller
casino. I found that they could have better slot machines and
games. People there were friendly, but as far as the games go,
they are too tight. Machines hardly paid, I went there the next
day-same thing. I won't go back, especially when you lose so
quickly and the casino doesn't pay out that often. Merry
Christmas, indeed. |
Greektown Casino
Address: 555 East Lafayette Boulevard
City: Detroit
Phone: (313) 223-2999

From Lisa:
Too hot inside, valet parking is the worst I've ever seen and
the workers are all very rude. But the entertainment is pretty
good.
From Sue:
Greek town is the worst in Michigan. Their parking is 2
blocks away in a real bad area. I have been to about 6 of the
casinos in Michigan and 2
Canadian casinos, thank you,
and have fun playing. |
MGM Grand Detroit Casino
Address: 1300 John Lodge Freeway
City: Detroit
Phone: (313) 393-7777
Player Reviews: 1
From Lisa:
The crap tables are great, the workers are friendly, the
entertainment area needs more chairs to sit on. Overall, it's
good. |
MotorCity Casino
Address: 2901 Grand River Avenue
City: Detroit
Phone: (313) 237-7711
Player Reviews: 2
From Lisa:
Way too smoky, needs ventilation, but good entertainment.
Food in Pit Stop lounge is good, buffet could be better.
From Dave:
Table limits on the high side seems tighter since new ownership
some good and friendly dealers only in Texas hold'em comp system
seems tighter than when they opened. They send a lot of free
gifts but don't expect to get one unless you go the day it
starts. |

From Steven:
I found this casino to be too eager to take my money at the
slots. I like the slots and the slots at this casino take your
money very fast. Also, I am a non-smoker and my clothes smelled
like an ashtray. I also found it odd that they offer penny slots
when in reality the least you can spend per play is a quarter
(called 25 credits). I will not be traveling back to this casino
anytime soon, if ever. First, they need to give me a reason
to...like winning once in a while.
From Roger:
Clearly a case where an industry & this casino, in particular,
can not police itself! No exaggeration, payback has to be less
than 10%! Highly recommend you drive north or south of this
place. |

From Sandy:
We have been to this casino many times. It's a beautiful
casino and I like the dealers in the poker room very much but, I
have to say the slots are so tight that, I don't care how
crowded it is you never hear anyone screaming that they won.
When you keep putting in and putting in the machines and nothing
comes back it loses it's flair for the game. You can't win. It
isn't a wonder that the casino is so nice they keep all the
money we put in the machines for upkeep. I for one won't be
going back there again. It's no fun anymore. They are just plain
piggish.From Jim:
Be advised that they changed their comp. window from 1 year to 6
months. Their FAQ's on their web site shows 1 year but I just
left $200 on the table because they changed in May and some of
us were not notified. |

From L:
The new Casino and Hotel, complete with waterfalls, outside
pond, 3 levels inside, the fancy works and all, but I wasn't
very impressed. Same as the old, the machines just take your
money too quickly. I like the games in the old building better,
but they were just as tight as far as winning. I won't go back,
though, it's no fun to go through so much money within the hour.
I guess that's what paid for that fancy architecture, eh? |
